Overview
Land Navigation is a critical skill in all Black Watch Operations, especially those where players are not equipped with GPS technology and radios. The Land Navigation course teaches members a combination of gameplay and real-life navigational techniques in order to best use in-game equipment to identify locations and plot routes.
Curriculum
A member certified on the Land Navigation Course will be able to:
- Range and identify bearing (azimuth) to visible targets.
- Estimate distances and plan routes on a map.
- Locate themselves on a map, using terrain features and landmarks.
