Apex Modpack Update Part 1
Quick news post to let everyone know that the first part of our Apex modpack update is now available on the repository. As everyone is already aware, this update is a complete reset of the modpack with us building up from a small core of mods. The first part of the modpack update releasing today is large (approximately 22GB). Members will also need to roll forward their Arma version and download the Apex expansion. To give people time to download there will be no operations on 11th or 12th August. Please read on for the update instructions, as they are more involved than usual!
First, you need to roll Arma forward to v1.62:
- In your Steam Library right-click on Arma 3 and go to Properties.
- Go to the Betas tab.
- In the select list, select "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs".
- Click Ok. In the library it should now say "Arma 3" instead of "Arma 3[legacy]" and it will begin downloading the update (size will vary).
- This should include the Apex expansion that you have purchased.
Second, we need to delete existing mod folders:
- Open your Arma 3 installation directory.
- Delete all folders beginning with @BWI_ except @BWI_TFAR.
- If you are on a slow connection you can try updating CUP Terrains instead of replacing it. This may or may not reduce the download size.
- To do this, rename @BWI_CUPTP to @BWI_CUP.
- Now allow Arma3Sync to update @BWI_CUP!
- If you don't play with ASR AI or cTab on public servers:
- Open the userconfig folder.
- Delete the asr_ai and ctab folders.
Now update your repository via Arma3Sync. Please be aware that the first stage where it checks for file changes may take several minutes to complete. Once it is completed and you have downloaded the updates:
- Open Arma3Sync.
- Go to the Launcher Options tab.
- Uncheck the File Patching option.
- Close Arma3Sync to save your changes.
JSRS has also received an update, for those of you who use it from our optional mod repository. This can be updated via Arma3Sync in the usual way.
There will be further updates in the next few days and over the next few weeks, so continue to check your repositories before taking part in each operation! Full details on the changes, as well as the updated modlist, will be made available within the next week.
