Modpack, Addons, Templates Update 02AUG2018
Bohemia has today pushed the latest update to Arma 3 and we are joining them in pushing a medium sized update to the live (~1.9GB) and optional (~900MB) repositories. All members should now update Arma 3 to v1.84 (~7GB) by disabling the legacy branch if it hasn't done so automatically. It is important that all mission makers read the full details below as this update directly impacts two aspects of mission making.
Whats New?
Many of the mods in our modpack have now been updated to versions compatible with the post-Tanks DLC version of Arma 3. Amongst the highlights is the FV432/3 Bulldog added by the developers of the 3CB-BAF mod. Fully compatible with 1.84 (and available for use without restriction), this APC offers the opportunity to run British Army mechanized ops for the first time.
Furthermore we have added a few new mods ourselves, including the F/A-18E Superhornet, SU-35E Flanker and AV8-B Harrier, as well as the FEMAL3 identity pack to provide members with more identity options.
Updating Arma to v1.84
Your Arma 3 should have automatically updated itself to v1.84 as the legacy branch we were on has become outdated. If your Arma 3 is still showing as being on the legacy branch, please follow these steps:
- Right-click Arma 3 in Steam.
- Select Properties.
- Go to Betas tab and select NONE.
- Click Close and wait for Arma 3 to update.
Mission Makers Beware!
Mission makers should be aware of two important changes with this update. Firstly, all templates have been updated with a new module for handling the Respawn Configurations, replacing the old system of checking different configuration boxes. Every template now features a "Respawn Type" module, which allows you to choose whether to use the Extended Timer or Manual Insertion method. From now on mission makers simply need to double click this module and select the desired mode - no further changes required. Please make sure to download the updated templates from our repository.
If you have an older mission you wish to update to the new format, please follow these instructions:
- Go to Systems/Modules (F5), search "respawn". Place Respawn Type module.
- Double click the module and make sure the preferred Type is selected (defaults to Extended Timer).
- Press OK.
- Go to Attributes > Multiplayer.
- Enable bwi_respawnBehaviour under Respawn > Rulesets.
Secondly, we are imposing a number of restrictions on the use of armored assets during operations while we wait for RHS to update. This is due to incompatibilities and errors with those assets at this time. All of the following rules apply to US, Russian and German assets - British assets and vanilla assets (within reason) are permitted for use under the same conditions as normal.
- Unarmoured Vehicles (Cars, Trucks)
- May not use weaponized cars or trucks unless you:
- Have pre-spawned the vehicle and checked every seat for a functioning interior.
- Have test fired and re-loaded any weapons attached to gunner seats.
- Not seen any errors appear while doing so.
- Unarmed trucks and cars are OK to use.
- This also applies to vehicles spawned as enemy combatants.
- May not use weaponized cars or trucks unless you:
- Armoured Vehicles (MRAPs, APCs, IFVs, MBTs)
- Players may not utilise US or Russian armoured vehicles.
- This includes both weaponized and unarmed variants.
- This also applies to vehicles spawned as enemy combatants.
- Additionally, enemy combatants must not utilise German armoured vehicles.
- Aircraft
- Rotary and fixed-wing aircraft are unaffected and can be used without issue.
- Additional
- If severe FPS issues or server desync is experienced during an operation, all vehicles should be removed immediately.
That's it for this update and as usual the full changelogs can be found below:
