First Operation

Overview

So you’ve joined Black Watch International as a Recruit and are raring to go. Here you will find everything you need to know about preparing for and taking part in your first operation as part of the group.

Mods

Before you can take part in your first op, you will need to make sure you have downloaded and installed Arma3Sync, and downloaded the modset from our Arma3Sync repository according to the instructions. You shoud also have Teamspeak and the ACRE plugin installed, the latter of which occurs automatically when starting Arma 3 with the Black Watch International Modpack enabled.

Test Run

Once you’ve got your mods installed it is a good idea to do a test run to make sure that everything is installed correctly. Simply attempt to join the server. If anything is wrong you will be unable to join. If that is the case, refer to the installation instructions and double check that you have all of the mods set to load in the right order within Arma3Sync.

It is a good idea to talk to ask another member to assist you when doing your test run. As well as ensuring that you’ve got your mods installed correctly, they can also give you basic orientation to make sure you have everything you need for your first operation.

Showtime

A member of our training staff will meet you on the server prior to your first operation and provide a brief orientation. This will include going over keybinds, using the Armory and making sure you are prepared to participate.

Once you have joined the server, you should find fellow players getting ready for the mission. Feel free to ask any of the members present for help or advice with preparing for your first operation, and even throughout the mission itself. If you don’t know, just ask!
Once briefing is concluded, you will be assigned a role by your Squad Leader.
