Setting up your Squad XML
The squad.xml is a file generated by the website and used by Arma to display chosen information about our members when in Arma 3, as well as enabling the display of our logo on shoulder patches and boarded vehicles. Most of the data required by the squad.xml is automatically generated by the website, however a few additional steps are required to activate it in-game:
- Make sure your website username is the same in-game, excluding the rank tag.
- For example, [PVT.] Tester must have their website username set to Tester.
- If your username doesn't match, click Edit Account on the right-hand side of the website to change it.
- Open Arma 3 and go to Configure, then Profile.
- Note down the long number displayed in the Player ID field.
- Open the Black Watch website again, click Edit Account in the sidebar and make sure that this number is correctly entered in the Player ID field.
- Enter any additional information you want to appear in-game, such as a Remark, and hit Save.
- Switch back to Arma 3 and make sure you are back on the Profile settings.
- Set the Squad URL to http://blackwatch-int.com/squad.xml?c=N, replacing N with the first character of your username.
- For example, [PVT.] Tester would set their Squad URL to http://blackwatch-int.com/squad.xml?c=T.
- Join the server and test that your squad.xml is active by seeing if [BWINT] appears next to your name while in a slot.
If your squad.xml is not functioning, please double check that all of the above steps have been followed before contacting [SGT.] Dhorkiy.
